There are ofen unneccessary damage during installation, transportation and adjusting procedure, which can be avoided if you pay attention to certain points as following show.
-
Keep the ball valve in a fully open position when transporting and storing the ball valve
-
Take protective measures for flanged ends and welded joints
-
End protection packaging can only be removed when the valve is installed on site
-
Lifting the valve through the lifting lugs on the valve
-
Valves should be stored in accordance with the storage procedures required by the technical specifications and avoid long-term storage.
-
If long-term storage is required, the valve should be flushed regularly
-
Rinse the pipe before installing the valve
-
Ensure that there are no test media residues in the pipe and / or valve body
-
Avoid salty water remaining in the valve body to prevent corrosion inside the valve
-
When the valve is tested online, minimize the time the valve is in the half-open position.
-
Standard ball valves are only used for full open/closed control, and adjustment applications (putting the ball valve in a half open state) can damage the seat
-
When selecting the O-ring and seat insert material, it is necessary to make sure that the actual working environment of the valve has been fully considered.
-
Valves for high pressure gas media should be made of explosion-proof decompression (AED) materials
-
Make sure the actuator is selected to match the valve (the actuator is large or small)
-
Do not use the actuator to lift the valve
